Hazardous Waste ManagementWaste Identification and CharacterizationFor proper disposal of waste, 4QR can assist you with profiling waste for non-hazardous or hazardous disposal, or sampling unknown waste containers to identify suspect contents. We can help you document and report the chemical properties and classify waste streams before proper transport, treatment, storage, and disposal. A member of the 4QR team can collect a sample of a substance to analyze properties such as flash point, pH, toxicity, corrosivity, etc., or conduct a TCLP or specific analysis that can be used to evaluate the appropriate storage and disposal procedures. For small quantities of multiple waste containers, we can segregate the waste by specific characteristics and package the waste in a manner that is most cost effective and practical for disposal. Waste Reduction, Minimization, and Disposal Generator status is determined by the quantity of hazardous waste you dispose of in one month. With many of today’s industrial and manufacturing facilities having reduced or minimized their hazardous waste, they have found the benefit of less paperwork by reclassifying their generator status from Large Quantity Generator (LQG) to Small Quantity Generator (SQG) or possibly even to Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generator (CE-SQG). 4QR will work with you on disposing of hazardous materials in quantities that put you in a classification best suited to your operations. 4QR will team with your staff to provide expertise on green initiatives. We can help evaluate various disposal options and alternatives then compare costs to determine the most practical, cost effective direction regarding your waste. When waste must be disposed offsite, we safely and efficiently containerize waste streams with appropriate security, storage, and labeling. We complete the profiling, provide the manifests, and arrange the disposal through our extensive network with disposal facilities, recycling centers, and transport companies. Regulations require that certain records be maintained, sometimes causing documents to be kept for several years. Based on your company’s activities and generator status, 4QR can help determine what requirements apply to you. Then we can perform initial and periodic review of your records to verify the appropriate records are being stored and kept organized. We will assist you in developing a plan that will gather the necessary documentation, get your records organized, and then provide a continual procedure for record maintenance that keeps you in compliance. Hazardous Site Investigations When a spill or release of hazardous materials occurs, 4QR can help you address the concern in a quick, thorough manner. We will help be a liaison with regulatory authorities, determine an efficient approach to investigating the incident, implement a plan that will determine the extent and sensitivity of the incident, and provide prompt, efficient cleanup. Our services may include proper notification, performing the removal of bulk waste, recovering buried drums, assessing and remediating contaminated soil and/or water, or performing storage tank cleaning, removal, and dismantling. Wastewater Sampling and Reporting Permitting for discharging treated waste streams may require one time sampling or periodic sampling and reporting to regulatory agencies. By outsourcing you sampling and reporting to 4QR, you will be provided professional sampling and reporting services that offers time savings, provides assurance that sampling and reporting is performed properly, thus decreasing your liability. We will keep you on scheduled with routine sampling. If quantities are approaching maximum outputs or concentrations are approaching threshold limits, we will help notify you promptly so adjustments can be made in the discharge or treatment cycle. And as a liaison with the regulatory agency, we’ll help you maintain compliance and permit renewals, while also keeping abreast of new regulations.
